AFRICA TOBACCO HARM REDUCTION FORUM (ATHRF)

Africa tobacco harm reduction forum is a bi-annual event that place every year. It is a discussion and networking platform designed to facilitate exchange of ideas among health practitioners, policy makers, academics and consumers from across African countries to get a better understanding on tobacco harm reduction and its role as a potential solution for smokers addicted to cigarette smoking. The key objectives of the forum are;

  • To disseminate knowledge from the global public health perspective about nicotine and tobacco harm reduction and raise awareness and debate about the concept of tobacco harm reduction
  • Present, discuss and challenge recent data related to the topic
  • To exchange ideas among participants on how best to move forward on the topics of harm reduction from scientific, public health, regulatory and social perspectives.
  • Provide an environment where regulatory authorities and policy makers may present to the scientific and medical communities their prospective course of action.
